FAQ

Are your wicks lead-free?

Absolutely. All of our wicks are 100% cotton and free from lead or any harmful materials.

Do you use essential oils or synthetic fragrances?

We use a blend of natural essential oils and high-quality fragrance oils - a practice shared by many of the world’s leading fragrance houses.

Our fragrance oils are produced in Australia and are chemically identical to their natural counterparts. We choose this approach for sustainability reasons: harvesting certain raw ingredients can place strain on the environment and vulnerable communities.

This method allows us to create sophisticated, long-lasting fragrances without compromising on ethics or performance.

Are Maison Blanche products vegan friendly?

Yes - our products are 100% cruelty-free and contain no animal by-products, making them vegan-friendly.

We also avoid harmful ingredients such as parabens and PEGs.

Where are Maison Blanche Products made?

All Maison Blanche products are made in Sydney, Australia.

Where is my closest stockist?

You can find your nearest retailer using our Stockist Finder. Simply enter your postcode or suburb to view nearby locations.

What’s your return policy?

We accept returns on unused products in original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Please visit our Returns Page for full details.

Are your glasses recyclable?

Yes - our glass jars are 100% recyclable. Many customers also choose to repurpose them as vases or storage for items like cotton buds, makeup brushes, or spices.

To clean your jar, wipe out the remaining wax with a paper towel while it’s still warm, or soak it in hot water. Then wash with soap and water by hand.

Avoid using anything abrasive, as it may scratch the painted surface.

Can I stock Maison Blanche in my store?

You can apply via our Wholesale Application Form. Once submitted, we’ll review your application and be in touch within 7 business days.

I can’t choose a fragrance, can I get samples?

We don’t offer samples at this time.

If you’d like help choosing a scent, feel free to get in touch - we’re happy to guide you. You can also visit one of our stockists to experience the fragrances in person.

Can I get a discount for bulk orders?

Yes - if you're ordering over 20 products, contact us at orders@maisonblanche.com.au to discuss potential bulk discounts.

Can I buy discontinued products?

Once a discontinued item has sold out on our website, it won’t be restocked. However, some of our stockists may still have limited stock available - we recommend contacting them directly to check availability.

Do you do private label or branded candles?

Yes, we do. Whether you're looking for client gifts, event favours, or branded collaborations - we can help.

Do you refill candles or diffusers?

We don’t currently offer refills for our candles - the vessels are designed to be repurposed or recycled once empty.

However, we do offer diffuser refills. Shop the full range here.

I can’t find my favourite scent online, will it come back into stock?

If a product is no longer available on our website, it has likely been discontinued.

We regularly refresh our collections to offer new and unique fragrances - sign up to our newsletter to stay informed about future releases and returning favourites.

 

Can I make changes to my order after placing it?

If your order hasn’t been processed yet, we’ll do our best to help. Please contact us as soon as possible.

How do I track my order?

Enter your order details on our tracking page. If your order has been shipped, it will be marked as Dispatched, and a tracking number will be provided.

You can then visit Shippit and enter your tracking number to view the delivery status.

If tracking details aren’t visible, email us at orders@maisonblanche.com.au and we’ll assist you.

My order has not arrived within the shipping times, what do I do?

First, track your order to see if it has been delivered or redirected to a local post office or depot.

If there’s no update or your parcel appears to be delayed, please contact us at orders@maisonblanche.com.au and we’ll investigate the issue for you.

Why is it important to stop burning with 1cm left of wax?

We recommend discontinuing use when 1cm of wax remains. At this point, there may not be enough wax to absorb the heat of the flame, which can cause the glass to overheat - and in rare cases, crack.

Has my order been shipped?

You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email once your order has been dispatched - be sure to check your junk folder just in case.

You can also log in to your account and scroll down to view your order status. If it’s marked as Dispatched, tracking details will be available there.

What is the black residue around my candle glass?

Black residue is caused by carbon build-up, which occurs when candle wicks are too long or if the candle has been burning for extended periods without trimming.

To prevent this, always trim the wicks to around 5mm before each burn, especially if the candle has been burning for more than two hours.

If residue appears on the glass, simply wipe it away with a dry paper towel once the jar has cooled.

I can’t smell my candle when it’s burning?

If you’re not noticing the fragrance, the candle may be too small for the size of the room - causing the scent to disperse and become less noticeable.

To test this, place the candle in a smaller enclosed space like a bathroom and close the door. After 10 minutes, you should be able to smell the fragrance.

My candle glass cracked, what happened?

Glass can crack when there isn’t enough wax left to absorb the heat of the flame - this causes the vessel to overheat over time. To avoid this, stop burning your candle when 1cm of unmelted wax remains.

Cracking can also occur if the wicks shift and come into contact with the glass. This may happen if a candle burns longer than the recommended time, causing the wax pool to expand and the wicks to become unstable.

If your glass has cracked and you believe it wasn’t due to the above causes, please take photos and email us at orders@maisonblanche.com.au and we’ll be happy to look into it.

My order arrived damaged - what should I do?

We’re so sorry. Please email us at orders@maisonblanche.com.au with your order number and a photo of the item so we can arrange a replacement or refund.

Why isn't my candle burning properly?

If your candle isn’t burning as expected, the most common causes are:

  • Wicks trimmed too short (less than 5mm)
  • Wicks that have shifted off-centre
  • Short burn cycles (less than one hour)

Orders returned to Maison Blanche or held at depot, due to incorrect address, contact details or failure to contact courier after delivery attempt will incur a re-shipping fee payable before goods are released.
